Care for your new piercing by following the aftercare instructions provided by your piercer, which typically include cleaning the area with a saline solution 2-3 times a day, avoiding touching or twisting the jewellery, and keeping the area dry and clean. Avoid swimming and submerging the piercing in water for the first few weeks.
Healing times vary depending on the location of the piercing. Earlobe piercings might take 6-8 weeks, while cartilage piercings can take anywhere from 3 months to a year. Oral and facial piercings have different healing times. Your piercer will give you an estimated healing time based on your specific piercing.
It's recommended to wait until your piercing is fully healed before changing the jewellery. Doing so prematurely can cause irritation or infection. If you're unsure about the healing process or how to change the jewellery safely, it’s best to return to your piercer for assistance.
